We are located in beautiful Gustavus, AK at the entrance to Glacier Bay, 45 miles west of Juneau, AK.
At Fish Alaska Charters we pride ourselves by delivering quality
catches to the dock every single day we fish.
We catch that "fish
of a lifetime" on a regular basis, we have been doing it for years, and
we will keep doing it for our customers in the years to come.
Whether it's a giant halibut (we catch halibut over the 100 and 200 lb
mark consistently all year long, with several over the 300 lb mark and a
few over 400 lbs), a beautiful ocean run chrome bright king salmon
(limits are common during peak run times), or a mix of colorful rock
fish and ling cod your Fish Alaska Charter will put you on the hot bite
your looking for!
Tired of that sqeaky old reel that's hard to crank and barely has enough line to reach the bottom? You won't have that problem with Fish Alaska Charters. We are on a first name basis with the industry leaders in tournament quality tackle. We depend on them for the best fishing equipment money can buy and they depend on us to test it on some of the strongest, toughest fish in the world. Our tackle is second to none and we hand select the best manufacturers to meet our specific needs and to hold up of the demands of the Alaskan waters.
Our custom built 28+ foot aluminum boat was designed from the ground
up to charter fish Alaskan waters with a small group of up to 6
passengers with safety and
comfort in mind. Our vessel, the
Pioneer, is fast, comfortable, fuel efficient, and features all United
States Coast Guard safety equipment. The Pioneer will quickly get
you to the fishing grounds in total comfort with a "deep vee" hull for a
soft high-speed ride, heated cabin, and enclosed head (bathroom).
The Pioneer has a 27 knot cruising speed to get you to the fishing
grounds quickly and that gives you more fishing time. Most
importantly she has "HUGE FISHBOXES" to store your catch of a lifetime!
The vast majority of our trophy halibut fishing is done on the protected waters of the "inside passage. These waters are typically very calm and if you had a problem with sea sickness in Homer or Seward you will appreciate the fact you can catch monster halibut without being on a rocking and rolling boat! Please note we do not control the weather and we will have a few windy days, but our typical sea state is very calm.
